Membership in the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine for North America is open to all members, in good standing, of the Masonic Order .

Every Shriner is a Freemason and subscribes to the tenets and philosophy of freemasonry, which teaches Friendship, Morality and Brotherly Affection under the "All Seeing Eye of God".

The Shrine is the social arm of Freemasonry. Shriners are widely known for their colorful parades, circuses and sporting events. The many different units and clubs available to each Shriner insures that each man will find a place of enjoyment and fellowship within our organization. The Temple activities include parties, dances, family events and social occasions far to numerous to mention here. Suffice it to say that if you can't find a way to enjoy yourself in the Shrine, then you're probably already dead!

Although the Shrine is a very social organization it has its serious side as well. Shriners are very proud of our Burn and Crippled Children's Hospitals. This is the major philanthropy of the Shrine and occupies a large part of every Shriners life. The hospitals, and the wonderful work that they do for children, are a great source of pride for every Shriner. The motto of our charitable sporting events "Strong legs run that weak legs may walk" and the well known phrase "No man every stood so tall as when he stoops to lift a child" really sum up what it is to be a Shriner.
